| March 6 | The OX-Bow 100: 100 mile single cylinder snowmobile race presented by Northern NY 100 Mile Racers in conjunction with the Oxbow Inn, Route 8, Oxbow Lake. | March 6 | Snow Box Derby & Fun Day: 11:00am at Oak Mountain Ski Center, Elm Lake Road, Speculator. There will be relay races and fun activities on the beginner hill from 11:00am until noon for ages 4-8. The Snow Box Derby will take place on the lower part of Sacandaga starting at 12:30pm. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative Snow Box, and the fastest Snow Box. Boxes must start with a cardboard box. There can be no metal, no skis or axles attached to it. The rest is up to you. | March 14 | Native American History with Darren Bonaparte: 1:30pm at the Adirondack Museum, Blue Mountain Lake. Bonaparte, a Mohawk storyteller, historian, and wampum belt maker from Akwesasne will share epic stories and recount the great legends of the Rotinonhsion:ni (Iroquois) Confederacy: The Creation Story and The Great Peacemaker. Free for Adirondack Museum members and school-aged children, $5 for non-members. Sponsored by the Adirondack Museum. | March 28 | Moose on the Loose in the Adirondacks with Ed Reed, NYSDEC: 1:30pm at the Adirondack Museum, Blue Mountain Lake. Ed Reed will review the history, current status, and future of moose in New York State. Moose were native to New York, but were extirpated before 1900. The program wil cover food habits, breeding biology, habitat needs, mortality factors, and recreational values of moose. Free for Adirondack Museum members and school-aged children, $5 for non-members. Sponsored by the Adirondack Museum.
